Directions

Facilities

The facility covers 28 acres including an Administrative and Flight Operations building, cafeteria, three dormitories, two aircraft maintenance hangars, a simulator and facility maintenance building.

Our recreational facilities include tennis and basketball courts, two swimming pools, fitness room, sand volleyball court, and a student lounge area.

The airspace where you'll be training

The Phoenix area offers student pilots a wide variety of airspace to train. Students will gain experience flying in controlled, uncontrolled and special use airspace. There are dozens of small to medium sized airports in the area with many instrument approaches. Additionally, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is typically among the top ten busiest airports in the United States, offering our students experience operating in a high-density traffic environment later in their program while learning the basics at a smaller regional airport.

About the area

The diverse nature of the terrain found in the southwestern United States enables students to experience a wide variety of flight conditions including coastal flying, mountain flying, instrument meteorological conditions and high density altitude flying. The volume of local air traffic and superb year-round weather make the Phoenix valley an excellent location for flight training.

Weather

Arizona has five climate zones that range from alpine (yes, Arizona has skiing) to low arid desert and three zones in between. Phoenix is located in the Sonoran Desert and gets about seven inches of rainfall per year. There’s a reason why aviators from all around the world come to Arizona. It’s the weather. Daily temperatures run from the 60s in the winter to the 100s in the summer.

Where you'll stay

Students accepted into United Aviate Academy will need to relocate to the greater Phoenix, Arizona, metroplex for the duration of their flight training. We encourage applicants to wait before making any final housing plans until receiving a class date. We will work with admitted students to select a date to start training and will ensure you have adequate notice before needing to secure housing and relocate.

Living on-campus

For those living in on-campus housing, the dorms are within a 5-minute walk to the training center. The dorms are single-occupancy so there is no need for roommates. In each room there is a sink and mirror, closet, a XL twin sized bed (adjustable height), a wall mirror, a desk and cork board hung above it, and a desk chair.

Students living on-campus will have access to free laundry facilities. You will need to provide your own detergent/dryer sheets.

Rent ranging from $650 to $750/month due at the beginning of each month.

Living off-campus

Students who do not wish to live on campus may also choose to live off campus. However, we do not currently partner with any off-campus apartments.

If you are looking to live off-campus and are interested in finding a roommate, it will be the responsibility of the student. United Aviate Academy will not facilitate that process.

Transportation

If you don’t have a car, most students choose to utilize Uber or Lyft.

Whether you live on or off campus, all student vehicles parked on Goodyear property will be required to display a parking decal. This will be arranged when you arrive to campus for class.

Before arriving to campus, you will need to provide Academy Services your license plate information. Safety is of the utmost importance and we like to ensure the safety of our students by easily identifying vehicles. You will be given a parking decal during orientation to place inside your vehicle.
